BRISBANE v COLLINGWOOD (Gabba, Thursday 7.35pm local time)
It’s being touted as the biggest game to be staged in Queensland’s capital for a decade and it promises to be a crackerjack contest as the vastly-improved Lions tackle premiership fancies Collingwood. Adding extra spice to this match-up is the inclusion of former Lions captain Dayne Beams into the Magpies’ line-up. Interestingly, the Lions head into the clash unchanged, despite being smashed by eight goals last week by Essendon. It’s a big statement of faith by the coaching staff in the players who helped them win their first three games. The Gabba certainly looks like it is returning to its ‘Gabbatoir’ status from the early part of this millennium, and teams will find it increasingly hard to win there, especially as the big parochial crowds start returning to the stands. However, we might look back on this match at the end of the season and see that the Magpies were a rare victorious visiting side at the venue. Collingwood historically is a very good travelling team and, as dangerous as the Lions have looked in the opening month, the Magpies appear to have just a bit more class and star power in their line-up.

NORTH MELBOURNE v ESSENDON (Marvel Stadium, Friday 4.20pm local time)
This is the AFL’s third attempt at the Good Friday clash, and it will be hoping it’s a case of “third time lucky” in terms of finding the right opponent for North Melbourne on the public holiday, after trying out the Western Bulldogs and St Kilda in the first two editions. But the league’s biggest concern might actually be the Kangaroos this time around. While they gallantly fought back to beat Adelaide last week, it certainly wasn’t an overly-impressive performance. They now face an Essendon line-up brimming with confidence. The Bombers are firing on all cylinders after a sluggish start, and their devastating speed will be too much to cope with for the one-paced Kangaroos.
RONNY’S TIP: Essendon by 31 points.
ROCO’S TIP: Essendon by 20 points.

WEST COAST v PORT ADELAIDE (Optus Stadium, Friday 6.10pm local time)
The Power have fallen flat after a promising first couple of rounds, and their fans must be shaking their heads as to how they lost to a Richmond outfit missing six of its best players at Adelaide Oval last week. Port is now confronted with arguably the toughest task in football – the reigning premiers on their home deck. With three wins on the trot, the Eagles are humming along nicely, and the expected return of Lewis Jetta (hamstring) will only strengthen their chances of a comfortable win against the Power.

ROCO’S TIP: West Coast by 28 points.

GWS v FREMANTLE (Manuka Oval, Saturday 1.45pm local time)
This is looming as perhaps the most lopsided contest of the round. While the Dockers did fight it out until the end against West Coast last week, they haven’t exactly been in sparkling form since they smashed North Melbourne in round one. The Giants, on the other hand, are just about the hottest team in the comp right now following their heroic four-point win over Geelong at GMHBA Stadium. It was a win for the ages, especially considering co-captain Callan Ward went down with a serious knee injury early in the piece, and a result they will be able to look back on for the rest of the year if self-doubt ever creeps in. This could be a percentage booster for GWS.

MELBOURNE v ST KILDA (MCG, Saturday 4.35pm local time)
Things are finally starting to look up for the Dees. They broke through for their first win of the year last week, and the 2018 preliminary finalists could also be set to welcome back Neville Jetta (knee), Jordan Lewis (hamstring) and Jay Lockhart (back). However, their next assignment isn’t an easy one. St Kilda is one of the surprise packets of 2019 and has unexpectedly become one of the hardest teams to play against. The Saints’ manic pressure game has yielded huge results, none more so than their win over Hawthorn last week. Not only is Melbourne 0-2 at the MCG this year, but the last time these two sides met at the ground in round 15 last year, it was the Saints who scored an upset win. The potential returns of Jack Steven (soreness) and Jarryn Geary (illness) would also be huge for St Kilda and there’s no reason why the Saints can’t continue their early-season roll.
RONNY’S TIP: St Kilda by 9 points.
ROCO’S TIP: Melbourne by 16 points.

RICHMOND v SYDNEY (Marvel Stadium, Saturday 7.25pm local time)
Just as it looked like Richmond’s season might have been headed for disaster, things got right back on track last weekend with a morale-boosting victory over Port Adelaide. The Tigers have now squared the ledger at 2-2 and they also get out-of-form superstar Dustin Martin back after serving a one-game suspension. The Swans are a shadow of their former selves, with their only win this year coming against bottom-placed Carlton. They’re slow and their lack of connection between defence, midfield and attack has been alarming. In this current state, they stand next to no chance against the Tigers.
RONNY’S TIP: Richmond by 23 points.
ROCO’S TIP: Richmond by 12 points.

WESTERN BULLDOGS v CARLTON (Marvel Stadium, Sunday 1.10pm local time)
This looms as a very intriguing encounter. The Blues have been knocking on the door for a victory all season, but just cannot find a way to break through. The Dogs have started the year in very competitive fashion, barring their upset loss to Gold Coast in round three. Carlton has lost its last five games against the Bulldogs, but there is something about this contest that suggests the Blues are a sniff, and they’re also a good chance of regaining Matthew Kreuzer and Darcy Lang. But for all the good signs the Blues have shown recently, the fact is they remain the only winless team in the competition this year. Furthermore, with three wins from their last 36 matches, they’ve actually forgotten how to win, and that’s why the pendulum probably swings marginally in the Bulldogs’ favour.
RONNY’S TIP: Western Bulldogs by 7 points.
ROCO’S TIP: Western Bulldogs by 14 points.

ADELAIDE v GOLD COAST (Adelaide Oval, Sunday 4.10pm local time)
As far as surprise packets go in 2019, St Kilda is right up there, but even the Saints don’t come close to the Suns. What an opening month they have produced. Many predicted them to win the wooden spoon and struggle to win a game this year, but they are currently sixth on the ladder with three wins. Amazingly, their first four games have been decided by a total of 11 points. Getting so much experience in tight clashes will prove invaluable for Stuart Dew’s young and developing side. And they’re certainly not without a shout against the Crows, whose 2018 malaise has continued into 2019 despite many believing they would bounce back. After all, they featured in a grand final only two years ago. And if ever Adelaide was going to snap out of its funk, it would be for favourite son Eddie Betts’ 300th AFL game. He becomes just the sixth Indigenous player to achieve the huge milestone, and with Bryce Gibbs a good chance of returning after being surprisingly omitted last week, the Crows really should give their home crowd something to cheer about.
RONNY’S TIP: Adelaide by 10 points.
ROCO’S TIP: Adelaide by 30 points.

HAWTHORN v GEELONG (MCG, Monday 3.20pm local time)
One of the great modern day rivalries resumes in the now traditional Easter Monday blockbuster, and if the 2019 edition is half as good as the one we were treated to last year, it’s going to be one hell of an afternoon. Since the Hawks broke The Kennett Curse, they’ve enjoyed the rub of the green, winning six of 11 meetings, including a double last year. But both sides have begun the new season in contrasting form. The Cats look destined for a top-four spot, while the Hawks look like they’ll struggle to make the finals. Of course, whenever these two sides meet, anything can happen, and often does. But the way both teams are travelling, it’s hard to go past the Cats, especially considering Hawthorn’s worrying injury toll. Ben Stratton, James Cousins, Conor Nash, Isaac Smith and Jaeger O’Meara are all under injury clouds, while James Frawley (hamstring) has already been ruled out.
RONNY’S TIP: Geelong by 24 points.
ROCO’S TIP: Geelong by 10 points.
