The issue Rohan is semantics. Dangerfield’s action in this instance was less a bump and more what was once regarded as a “charge” – a long time reportable offence of making body contact while airborne. If both feet were off the ground as a player launched himself into another the term charge came into play.
Body contact in a contest for possession is vastly different. That’s where the word ‘bump’ applies and if that leaves the game we might as well reduce the game to five players with a hoop at each end.
